Regarding this year's Korea-China-Japan summit, which is to be held in Korea, the Japanese government delivered a position to the South Korean side that "unless there is an acceptable measure on the issue of forced mobilization from Japan, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga will not attend," Kyodo News reported.

Kyodo News Agency reported that the Japanese government delivered the view to the Korean government that there could be no visit to Korea by Prime Minister Suga unless the Korean side responds appropriately regarding the issue of the sale of Japanese corporate assets, which are the defendants of the lawsuit for forced mobilization, around the end of last month.

The news agency also said the Japanese government specifically demanded a guarantee that the assets of Japanese companies seized by a Korean court in Korea are not converted into cash.

In this regard, a Japanese government source said, "As long as there is a concern about cash currency, Prime Minister Suga will not go to Korea," and "the environment for holding Korea-China-Japan talks within this year will not be established," Kyodo News reported.

Kyodo News Agency cited multiple sources that the Japanese government's demand for action by the South Korean government regarding a lawsuit for compensating for forced mobilization from Japan, a current conflict between Korea and Japan, as a condition of attending the Korea-China-Japan summit, reflects Prime Minister Suga's intention.

Earlier, an official from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said at the end of last month that Prime Minister Suga could visit Korea only if the Korean government promised not to sell the defendant's Japanese corporate assets in connection with the forcibly mobilization lawsuit.

The Japanese government's condition to attend the Korea-China-Japan summit seems to be an intention to draw concessions from the Korean government, but the Korean government is in a position that the administration cannot intervene in the judgment of the judiciary, so the holding of the Korea-China-Japan summit may be canceled within this year. .

The Korea-China-Japan Summit is held by three countries in rotation, and it was held in Chengdu, China in December of last year, and will be held in Seoul this year.
